Phi
Phi Leh (Phi Phi Ley)
Phi Phi Le
is an uninhabited island whose natural beauty is still unspoiled. The
island is mostly composed of towering limestone cliffs that spring up at
right angles with the blue water surface. The water is brightly
turquoise with the abundant coral reefs and species of fish. There are
several magnificent beaches and scenic islands standing offshore. There
is no accommodation on Phi Phi Lei, as most of the island is composed of
sheer cliffs and small lagoons with teeming fish. Trips leave every day
for sightseeing and snorkelling, especially good for beginners as the
water is warm, absolutely clear, and shallow.

Maya
Bay
Made
famous as a location for the Hollywood film "The Beach." Great for snorkelling,
lots of coral gardens and colourful fish, although can get a little busy in high season!
Maya Bay is
another wonderful beach, and has been a huge tourist attraction for
Koh Phi Phi for years. The beach itself is mainly accessed by boats
which can be caught for a reasonable. The shore of the bay was
altered due to the movie, ‘The Beach’, in the 90’s and was changed
considerably. However, despite a large lawsuit that ensued after the
time of the land developments, the beach remains to be as gorgeous
as ever, if not more- surrounded by steep cliffs and green
vegetation. The water itself is safe, shallow and crystal clear.
Another perfect spot for relaxing, snorkeling and swimming the bay.
Cliff jumping in some area’s is also a popular activity, and a great
source of fun. Maya Bay is one of the places Koh Phi Phi offers that
you would be stupid not to visit.

Lohsamah
Bay
The
tropical paradise of Phi Phi Island is composed of two islands: Phi
Phi Don and Phi Phi Ley. Although Phi Phi Don is the main island,
Phi Phi Ley has quite a bit to offer tourists. Loh Samah Beach is
located on the much smaller island of Phi Phi Ley. Since this entire
island is surrounded by limestone walls, very little damaged was
sustained by the tsunami. To this day, the island and beaches shine
like a precious gem.
Although
the Phi Phi Ley island is uninhabited, it is still a common stopping
destination for tourists and diving trips. Most diving trips stop at
Loh Samah Beach since the southern coastline bay provides shallow
diving for beginners. The cliffs and caves can also provide shelter
from the sun and rain. More experienced divers head towards the
seaward side of the Loh Samah Beach pinnacle because the current can
be fairly strong. |

Bamboo Island
Bamboo
Island National Park is home to an untouched environment and some of
the best snorkeling locations Thailand has to offer. Whether you
want to enjoy yourself on the far stretching, white beaches along
the islands coast, it’s also an amazing spot for snorkeling as the
island is rich with an abundance of timid marine life just off the
shore. Snorkeling day trips are also an optional activity, filling
up your days schedule with plenty of activities from morning until
late afternoon, including boat tours, time on the beach, delicious
buffett’s and more. Truly an epic way to spend the day. |
